Guided Tour Verona on Four Wheels

Program

Verona has always been linked to the world of motoring: vintage car exhibitions, historic rallies or the legendary Mille Miglia, there are many opportunities for enthusiasts to stop in our city.

To all motor lovers, we want to suggest a gem to add to the visit to the historic center of Verona, a stop at the Nicolis Museum of Cars, Technology and Mechanics: it is not only one of the most important institutions in Europe for vintage collections. It is a new type of Museum for which the focus is not on the objects, but on sharing their meaning: the 7 collections of the Nicolis Museum with hundreds of vintage cars, motorcycles and bicycles attract, every year, 30 thousand visitors from 30 countries around the world. Among the unobtainable pieces, the father of all scooters: the 1919 Skootamota ABC which, by chance, was in the cellars of the Carlo Felice Trossi in Biella, when the Piaggio engineers designed Paperino, the first Vespa prototype.

Additional Information

It is not a traditional museum, but rather a spectacular and ultra-modern container of culture and ideas. It is called “Museo Nicolis dell’Auto, della Tecnica, della Meccanica”, inaugurated in 2000 in Villafranca di Verona, created by Luciano Nicolis, a Veronese entrepreneur and founder of the Lamacart Group, who brought his great passion for technology and mechanics into this work.

It is one of the most prestigious private museums in the world. Open to various forms of innovation and experimentation, it is a lively promoter of culture and a point of attraction for the entire territory. Managed with managerial criteria, it is recognized as an effective and concrete example of a Museum-Enterprise, that is, an unconventional cultural institution that promotes knowledge and innovation without losing sight of growth and development objectives.

The museum tells, through hundreds of cars, motorcycles and bicycles, the evolution of means of transport over the last two centuries. But there is much more in this non-Museum-Museum: cameras and typewriters, musical instruments, unobtainable objects.
